In Oct 2008  Viluthu held a workshop with Tamil educationists to assess problems faced by schools that use Tamil as the medium of instruction. The objective of the workshop was to sharpen Viluthu’s submission towards the New Education Act and to make an input into the MPs speech on the budget day proceedings on the same subject. The MP Thurairatnasingam in his parliamentary speech quoted extensively from the Viluthu’s report which was also reproduced in many related websites.
